Way back when, I wanted to do something different and decided to do a short Christmas cartoon. And why the hell not, let’s animate it…
I never did any animation before this one, so this was definitely challenging and fun. I did the entire thing in Krita. Slowly building up the animation frame by frame. It’s a lot harder than you might think, especially if you want the animation to properly loop. I remember that the snow especially was a real pain in the <bleep> to get to loop. My choice of canvas size was a bit of a rookie mistake. At first I drew everything in 4K, which is way too big for animating something like this. If I was to animate something new, I would probably use DaVinci Resolve or something like that to animate the different elements.
